DKFI World Diabetes Day Run
Saturday, November 15 from 9am-12pm
Buddy Attick Lake Park, 555 Crescent Rd
Let’s come together to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and show support for friends and families living with diabetes. We’re excited to announce that Dr. Florence Awosika, DNP, one of our very own DKFI parents and a mother of two, will be at one of the four health booths sharing her expertise and encouragement. After the run, treat yourself to cold smoothies and hot dogs — the perfect post-race reward and chance to mingle with fellow runners.
Town Hall Meeting on Reparations
Saturday, November 15 from 2:30 – 5pm
Greenbelt Community Center, Room 201
The Greenbelt Reparations Commission will share its latest findings and will have break-out sessions at the Town Hall where residents are invited to make recommendations for repair and redress. The start time has been changed from 3 to 2:30pm.
Greenbelt Farmers Market
Sunday, November 16 from 10am – 2pm
Parking Lot Behind Municipal Building, 25 Crescent Rd
On Sunday shop for fresh, nutritious, high-quality food grown or produced in the region. It’s a great opportunity to connect with the community around the lovely Roosevelt Center and support local vendors.

Save as you Throw
Info and Q&A Sessions

November 18 from 12 – 2pm
Attend one of our Zoom sessions to learn about the new Save As You Throw (SAYT) program for the city’s trash collection, beginning January 2026. Each session includes a 15-minute presentation on the program followed by a Q&A.

This month’s Free Produce Distribution is our annual holiday food box. Brought to you by Greenbelt CARES in partnership with Prince George’s County Council Member Ingrid Watson. No reservation required. Food boxes will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and while supplies last. Gobble Wobble 5k - November 27, 9am – 12pm – Spend Thanksgiving morning with Greenbelt Recreation as we host the 18th annual Gobble Wobble.
Sparkle Mart - December 6 – 7, 10am – 5pm – Find unique, hand-made gifts for all occasions, including housewares, toys, clothing and accessories, jewelry, books and cards, fine arts, and more, along with Greenbelt Museum and Greenbelt Cinema merchandise.
